Yuri Plisetsky/Victor Nikiforov - childhood friends + hurt/comfort

Hurt/comfort in an AU setting where Victor and Yuri grew up in the same neighbourhood. Victor is the neighbourhood's golden boy who was meant to do great things ... but now he's moved back home and the adults are all shaking their heads and whispering. Yuri (who doesn't know what happened) is the only one not walking on eggshells around Victor and his bluntness eventually leads to genuine bonding as they get to know each other again at a totally different point in life.

Would love to see some of the same dynamics from canon with Yuri growing up in Victor's shadow. Then he sees the difference between Victor-the-neighbourhood-idol and Victor-the-human, and becomes angry that more people aren't reaching out to help Victor.

Relationship can stay as gen, one-sided crush, unresolved, etc. but I'm looking for some sort of deep bond and affection.
